Chihuahua has established itself as one of Mexico’s most solid platforms for productive investment, supported by a combination of industrial scale, manufacturing experience, and deep integration with the North American market.
From the perspective of Chihuahua Global, this positioning is not only the result of its production capacity, but also of a diversified economic structure that enables long-term stability and competitiveness.
“Chihuahua has remained Mexico’s leading exporting state for the 16th consecutive year, with export figures historically ranging between $70 and $75 billion. In 2025, however, the state reached a record-breaking $109.5 billion USD, driven by the electronics sector, which grew 93.4% compared to 2024,” said Emmanuel Sauceda, Senior Investment Promotion Executive at Chihuahua Global.
This leadership is supported by a diversified industrial base that includes aerospace, electronics, automotive, and medical devices, allowing the state to adapt to changing global demand while maintaining a strong manufacturing footprint.
Tailored soft landing: a case-by-case approach to investment
One of Chihuahua Global’s main differentiators is its ability to provide a highly customized soft landing process, designed around the specific needs of each company. Rather than following a standardized model, the organization prioritizes understanding each investment project individually.
“There is no single manual. Everything starts with understanding what the company needs and where it wants to go,” Sauceda noted.
Based on this approach, Chihuahua Global acts as a connector between investors and a network of key stakeholders, including government agencies, legal and tax advisors, industrial developers, logistics providers, and human capital specialists.
The organization operates as a one-stop shop, streamlining the process and reducing complexity for companies entering the region. “Our role is to facilitate the experience. Instead of knocking on multiple doors, companies come to us and we connect them with the right partners,” he added.
A well-established supply chain ecosystem
When evaluating new locations, companies consider a combination of operational and strategic factors. In Chihuahua, several of these consistently stand out.
One of the most relevant is its strategic location, with direct access to key U.S. markets, including Texas, New Mexico, and the broader Southwest corridor. “Chihuahua is positioned within a key corridor where new investments in technology, semiconductors, and advanced industries are taking place,” Sauceda said.
This advantage is complemented by a highly experienced and increasingly specialized workforce, built over more than six decades of manufacturing activity. Additionally, Chihuahua also offers a strong and diversified industrial supply chain, covering a wide range of processes and capabilities.
From electronics integration and precision machining to thermal treatments, metal fabrication, and advanced manufacturing processes, the state provides a solid base for operational integration.
Evolving industries: the next phase of growth
Looking ahead, Chihuahua is not only strengthening its existing industries but also moving toward higher value-added segments.
In aerospace, there is a shift toward technologies such as electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) systems. In the automotive sector, the focus is on electromobility, including batteries, charging infrastructure, and powertrain components.
In medical devices, there is growing interest in developing specialized infrastructure such as sterilization facilities, which would enhance local value chains.
Meanwhile, in the electronics sector, Chihuahua has also become a strategic manufacturing base for a significant share of the world’s high-performance servers used in AI and cloud computing, supplying major technology companies such as Microsoft, Amazon, Meta, and Google.
Chihuahua Global: enabling investment in Mexico
Chihuahua Global operates as a private, non-profit organization supported by a network of companies and industry specialists. Its core mission is to facilitate the investment process, from international promotion to on-the-ground implementation.
“We promote Mexico first, and then Chihuahua. The most important thing is that investment comes into the country,” Sauceda stated.
