Chihuahua Aerospace Cluster Marks Nearly Two Decades of Growth and Unveils New Institutional Identity

The Chihuahua Aerospace Cluster celebrated a major milestone in the evolution of the state’s aerospace industry, marking nearly two decades of work in building one of Mexico’s most important aerospace ecosystems while officially unveiling its new institutional identity.

The event represented more than an anniversary. It signaled the beginning of a new stage for the organization, centered on strategic evolution, stronger institutional capabilities, and a broader international projection for Chihuahua’s aerospace sector.

A Milestone for Chihuahua’s Aerospace Ecosystem

The celebration brought together aerospace companies, strategic partners, academic institutions, training and research centers, business chambers, economic development organizations, and representatives from all three levels of government. International delegations linked to regional aerospace development also attended, reflecting the broad network that has supported the cluster’s growth over the years.

This gathering reinforced the role of the Chihuahua Aerospace Cluster as a platform that connects industry, academia, and government, helping position Chihuahua as one of the leading aerospace hubs in Mexico.

A New Identity for a New Stage

One of the most significant moments of the evening was the official presentation of the cluster’s new institutional identity, which symbolizes a transition toward a more solid, innovative, and globally aligned structure.

The rebranding reflects not only a visual update, but also a broader effort to strengthen the organization’s operating model, improve continuity and efficiency in its initiatives, and support the creation of working commissions made up of experts from industry, academia, and government. These commissions are expected to help advance the strategic priorities of the aerospace sector in Chihuahua.

This new stage also seeks to expand the participation of companies within the ecosystem, with particular emphasis on the integration of small and medium-sized suppliers in order to reinforce domestic supply chains, promote local innovation, and generate broader regional economic benefits.

Nearly Two Decades Built on Collaboration

During the event, Mario Enríquez, President of the Chihuahua Aerospace Cluster, highlighted that the organization’s history has been shaped by the shared vision of industry leaders, academic institutions, and public organizations that chose to invest in the development of a competitive aerospace platform in Chihuahua.

That long-term collaboration has enabled the state to build a highly specialized ecosystem that today includes global companies, qualified talent, universities, research centers, and public-private coordination mechanisms that support industrial growth.

The event also included a panel with former presidents of the cluster, who reflected on the milestones that shaped the organization and the aerospace industry in Chihuahua. Their participation underscored the continuity of leadership that has supported the sector’s development across different stages.

Recognition for the Leaders and Institutions Behind the Cluster

As part of the celebration, the cluster presented recognitions to former presidents, former directors, and key institutions that have contributed to its consolidation. These acknowledgments highlighted the long-term work of leaders from the aerospace and manufacturing industries, as well as the role played by organizations such as American Industries, Intermex, Index Chihuahua, DESEC, the Municipal Government of Chihuahua, and the Government of the State of Chihuahua.

The presence of a delegation from El Paso County, Texas, also added a binational dimension to the event, reflecting the importance of cross-border relationships in regional aerospace development and economic cooperation.

Chihuahua’s Position in Mexico’s Aerospace Industry

Over nearly two decades, the Chihuahua Aerospace Cluster has helped consolidate an ecosystem recognized for its capabilities in advanced manufacturing, engineering, talent development, and participation in global supply chains.

That trajectory has contributed to positioning Chihuahua among Mexico’s main aerospace reference points, supported by a collaborative model often described as the triple helix, where industry, academia, and government work together to promote innovation, specialized talent, and high-value investment.

With the unveiling of its new identity, the Chihuahua Aerospace Cluster is entering a new phase with the goal of building on that legacy while expanding its reach, modernizing its structure, and reinforcing its contribution to the future of aerospace manufacturing in Mexico.
