Cargill Animal Nutrition & Health (ANH), through its PURINA® brand, has completed the relocation of its Jalisco Distribution Center (DC) as part of its expansion strategy in Mexico, aimed at strengthening operational capacity and improving service to livestock producers and distributors in the region.

The launch of the new facility aligns with the sustained growth of the livestock sector in western Mexico, where Jalisco plays a key role due to its strong production base and ongoing development. The company indicated that the relocation enhances logistics coverage and shortens response times across the region and neighboring states.

The new distribution center offers twice the operational capacity of the previous facility, enabling higher inventory levels, more efficient operations, and closer proximity to market demand. Its strategic location was selected to strengthen the distribution of animal nutrition solutions for both production species and companion animals.

Operational efficiency and regional coverage

Jiddu Uribe, Retail Commercial Director for Cargill ANH Latam North, emphasized the operational benefits of the new facility.

“This distribution center has generated a level of agility we did not have before. It allows us to maintain physical inventory to consistently and accurately meet the needs of our distributors,” he said.

Bernardo Aguado, Divisional Manager for the Western Region, highlighted the importance of Jalisco within the company’s strategy.

“This is a highly competitive and productive region. The new DC will help us strengthen our relationship with producers,” he noted.

Héctor Ruiz, SMT Leader for Cargill ANH Mexico, added that the relocation also addressed the need to centralize logistics operations.

“This center enables more efficient service for both production species and companion animals through optimized processes and a comprehensive product portfolio,” he explained.

Strengthening Mexico’s animal nutrition supply chain

With the operation of the new Jalisco DC, Cargill ANH reinforces its logistics infrastructure in Mexico, creating a platform designed to respond more efficiently and with greater proximity to the needs of the country’s livestock sector. The expansion supports improved supply chain performance and positions the company to meet rising demand in one of Mexico’s most important agricultural regions.
