The Greater Brownsville Incentives Corporation (GBIC) in Brownsville, Texas, has announced a new partnership between Rich Products Corporation and the Texas A&M Rio Grande Valley Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Hub (RAMI). This collaboration aims to enhance the skills of the local workforce by focusing on various advanced manufacturing techniques and processes.

Jovanna Rangel, Director of Retention, Business Expansion, and Workforce Development at GBIC, emphasized the significance of this partnership for the community's benefit. "We aim to build bridges between businesses and provide better training opportunities for our workforce. This collaboration between RAMI and Rich Products Corporation is part of our commitment to support local businesses and enhance their staff training and development."

The training will take place at Rich Products' facilities in Brownsville, with no cost to participants thanks to efforts by GBIC and RAMI. The training program will offer customized classes tailored to the company's needs, covering key areas such as production, continuous improvement processes, and manufacturing techniques.

Abel Campos, Program Manager at Texas A&M's Engineering Extension Service (TEEX), expressed enthusiasm for the training initiative: "We're excited to assist companies in enhancing their workforce skills. The program we'll deliver at Rich Products Corporation will be tailored to their specific needs. Our commitment is to help the productive sector grow and positively impact the community."

Rich Products Corporation has been a part of Brownsville since 1993 and is currently expanding with a 159,000-square-foot project, which will increase their workforce to over 530 employees. Meanwhile, the TEEX service managed by RAMI, established in 2021, aims to boost advanced manufacturing skills in the Rio Grande Valley region.
