The Greater Brownsville Incentives Corporation (GBIC) in Brownsville, Texas, has been awarded the 2024 Workforce Excellence Award by the Texas Economic Development Council (TEDC) in the regional category. This accolade recognizes GBIC's continuous dedication, the implementation of various community-benefiting programs, and workforce development initiatives.

On social media, GBIC highlighted the support of their team and celebrated the success of the "Rally in The Valley" event. Over three editions, this event has connected more than a thousand students, professionals, and businesses in the Rio Grande Valley, fostering skill development and new knowledge. It serves as a model of collaboration among different educational institutions and universities in the region. GBIC also emphasized their participation in the TXWORKS program, which provides financial support to students undertaking internships in work environments.
