The competitive advantages offered by the Starr-Camargo International Bridge for trade processes and exchanges between Mexico and the United States were highlighted with great interest among the international trade undergraduate students at Tecmilenio University in Reynosa.
During a personalized visit, the students observed the smooth flow provided to cargo units, the joint customs inspection processes ensuring minimal wait times, the crossing of oversized and overweight units, as well as the expanding facilities and future growth plans.
Robert Vale, Vice President of Commercial Development at Starr-Camargo Bridge Company, along with Beatriz Castro, International Legal Officer, and Rogelio Olivares Jr, Director of the Rio Grande City border port of the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) office, served as hosts, along with Jonathan González, Janette Garza, and cargo supervisors Luis Mario Villarreal and Cleofás Gutiérrez.
The student community learned about the joint customs inspection program for 100% of import cargoes seven days a week, offered by this international route, which involves simultaneous inspection of goods by agents from the Mexican National Customs Agency (ANAM) and CBP, avoiding delays in logistic processes and ensuring agility.
Through a tour of the facilities, they also witnessed the smooth flow for commercial import and export processes. "Being a private bridge on the Tamaulipas and Texas border, we can offer added value to our clients, from the speed at which goods are inspected thanks to joint customs inspection, to the passage for double-trailer units and overweight loads. Furthermore, we are developing growth plans to extend our service capacity," mentioned Vale.
The proximity to industrial cities like Reynosa and Monterrey is also another competitive advantage of the international bridge, shortening distances and ensuring savings for companies.
From Tecmilenio University in Reynosa, the presence of Roberto Durán, the institution's director, and mentors Julián Muñoz and Jessica Obando was highlighted, who agreed that this visit provided students with new practical knowledge that will be useful in their future careers.
Meanwhile, Starr-Camargo Bridge Company emphasized its commitment to supporting the educational development of northern Tamaulipas and southern Texas.
