BSH Home Appliance Group, the appliance division of the Bosch Group, has inaugurated its first appliance manufacturing plant in Mexico. The new facility, located in Salinas Victoria, Nuevo León, represents an investment of over 5.2 billion pesos ($260 million USD) and is expected to create up to 1,500 jobs.
Construction of the plant began in July 2022 on a 430,000 square meter site designed to meet the needs of the North American market with cutting-edge technology and sustainable production processes. The factory will be operated with CO2-neutral emissions and will have an annual production capacity of more than 300,000 refrigerator units.
"North America is a key growth market for our company, and Mexico offers the ideal conditions to produce innovative cooling appliances tailored to the needs of our consumers," said Andre Piel, Chief Operating Officer of BSH Mexico.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by federal and state government representatives from Nuevo León, industry members, chambers of commerce, academia, and diplomatic figures. Notable attendees included Matthias Metz, CEO of BSH Home Appliances Group; Alexander Firsching, President of Bosch Mexico; and Andre Piel, along with other global and regional executives from the company.
