Bombardier Invests $18 Million to Expand Its Advanced Manufacturing Facility in Querétaro
October 23, 2025
Canadian aerospace manufacturer Bombardier announced an investment of $18 million USD in Querétaro, Mexico, to expand its operations and enhance its advanced manufacturing capabilities. The project will create 246 highly specialized jobs, further positioning the Querétaro plant as one of the company’s most strategic facilities worldwide.
Strategic Expansion and Confidence in Mexican Talent
According to Tony Curry, Vice President of Transformation at Bombardier, this decision reflects the company’s ongoing confidence in Querétaro’s robust industrial ecosystem, where strong collaboration between academia, industry, and technology centers has fostered a skilled and innovative workforce.
“We are investing millions of dollars to strengthen our relationship with Querétaro, expand aerospace capacity, and continue innovating in high-technology components,” Curry stated.
Opened in 2006, Bombardier’s Querétaro facility has evolved into a global benchmark in advanced aerospace manufacturing, producing fuselages, electrical harnesses, and structural systems for business aircraft such as the Global 7500 and Challenger 3500. These components are exported to major international markets, underscoring Mexico’s role as a strategic partner in Bombardier’s global value chain.
A Competitive Aerospace Ecosystem
This new investment reinforces Querétaro’s position as Latin America’s leading aerospace hub, home to more than 90 companies working in synergy with universities and specialized clusters. Bombardier has been a cornerstone in this ecosystem, promoting technology transfer, high-value job creation, and innovation within the regional supply chain.
The expansion aims to optimize operational efficiency and integrate digital processes across Bombardier’s global manufacturing network, aligning with the company’s corporate transformation plan and commitment to sustainable innovation in business aviation.
With nearly two decades of operations in Mexico, Bombardier continues to recognize the country as a strategic location for aerospace manufacturing. “Querétaro offers the ideal conditions for the sustained growth of our industry — talent, infrastructure, and institutional collaboration,” Curry emphasized.
