July 24, 2025
The Bajío Logistics Gateway in Guanajuato, now recognized as a Development Hub, connects to the Celaya–CPKC–Ferromex rail network and supports key manufacturing and export sectors across central Mexico.
With more than 52 hectares of industrial space, the Bajío Logistics Gateway has been officially designated as a Development Hub by the Mexican Federal Government. Located in Guanajuato, this new platform reinforces the state's role as a strategic node for manufacturing, logistics, and exports in central Mexico.
This development is part of the national Plan México strategy, designed to enhance economic infrastructure and expand the country’s capabilities in response to increasing nearshoring trends.
Strategic Location and Multimodal Connectivity
Situated in the heart of the Bajío region, the Bajío Logistics Gateway will be fully integrated with the Celaya Railway Bypass and operate in alliance with key operators such as Ferromex and Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) Mexico. This ensures strong national and international rail connectivity for both imports and exports.
The site will offer a wide range of logistical and value-added services, including:
- Bonded yards
- A customs section
- C-TPAT certification (Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism)
These features will help guarantee operational efficiency and high security standards for international trade.
Target Industries and Investment Opportunities
The gateway is designed to support multiple high-priority sectors, including:
- Automotive and auto parts
- Advanced manufacturing
- Logistics and transportation
- High-value agribusiness
- Information technology
- Aerospace
- Commodities such as grains, steel, and appliances
This sectoral diversity positions the Bajío Logistics Gateway as an attractive destination for domestic and foreign investment, especially for companies seeking to consolidate export operations, integrate supply chains, or establish regional distribution hubs.
Boosting Economic and Industrial Growth in Bajío
Beyond physical infrastructure, the project also promotes integrated planning that includes business services, housing, workforce development, and support for micro, small, medium, and large enterprises. The overarching goal is to transform the region into a competitive base for production and distribution, rooted in local value and innovation.
With its designation as a Development Hub, the Bajío Logistics Gateway adds a key industrial platform to Guanajuato’s portfolio—strengthening domestic markets, driving internationalization, and positioning the region as one of Mexico’s most important logistics corridors.
