With over 400 hectares of industrial space and multimodal connectivity, Bajío Industrial Park in Michoacán positions itself as a top destination for foreign investment in Mexico’s new development strategy.
In a significant step for Mexico’s national economy, the Bajío Industrial Park—located in Zinapécuaro, Michoacán—has been officially declared the second largest Polo de Desarrollo Económico para el Bienestar in the country. With approximately 400 hectares of industrial land, the new complex is positioned to drive investment and generate employment with both regional and national impact.
The designation was announced by Governor Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla during the launch of the first 15 development hubs included in the Plan México—a national initiative introduced by President Claudia Sheinbaum. The program aims to transform 14 Mexican states through coordinated public, private, national, and international investment across key sectors such as industry, services, and tourism.
Strategic Infrastructure and Multimodal Connectivity
The Bajío Industrial Park stands out for its strategic location along the Guadalajara–Mexico City highway, just five kilometers from Morelia International Airport. This positioning allows it to operate as a strategic bonded facility or dry port, streamlining customs and logistics operations.
Additionally, the park offers direct rail access to the Port of Lázaro Cárdenas, enabling fast connections to international markets—especially in Asia and the U.S. East Coast. This multimodal infrastructure makes it an ideal logistics hub for exporting companies.
Sustainable Development with High-Value Potential
Designed with a focus on agroindustry, logistics, manufacturing, and the automotive sector, the park targets industries that have proven to be engines of regional development. It features industrial land use designation, environmental permits, water supply, and access to clean electricity—ensuring sustainable operations for future investors.
“The Bajío Industrial Park offers the ideal conditions to attract sustainable and responsible companies from around the world,” said Governor Ramírez Bedolla, emphasizing the project’s role in boosting the local economy and positioning Michoacán as a competitive player in the global investment landscape.
Beyond direct benefits to the municipality of Zinapécuaro, the development is expected to have a multiplier effect across the state capital and northern Michoacán, forming part of an emerging industrial corridor linking the Bajío region to the Pacific and to major urban centers across Mexico.
The project also sends a strong signal of confidence to domestic and foreign capital by aligning with Mexico’s industrial policy focused on infrastructure, sustainability, and regional integration.
With a long-term vision, the Bajío Industrial Park represents a new chapter in Mexico’s investment strategy—blending world-class logistics with sustainability and balanced territorial development.
Michoacán is now redefining its economic identity—no longer only known for agriculture and tourism, but also emerging as a competitive hub for industry and global logistics.
