Arca Continental to invest 13,000 million pesos in 2019

Arca Continental, one of the largest Coca-Cola bottling companies worldwide, announced that they are planning to invest about 13,000 million pesos in 2019, which will be addressed to strengthen and innovate their production capabilities, distribution and execution in their beverages and food operations in the countries they serve.


From this amount, about 4,600 million will be for their operations in Mexico; 5,000 million to business in the United States, including 3,065 million for the new bottling plant in Houston, Texas; and 3,400 million, for the South American region.


Before the Annual Shareholders Assembly, the president of the Administration Council, Manuel L. Barragan Morales and the general director of the company, Arturo Gutierrez Hernandez, talked about the performance of Arca Continental in 2018 and the main strategies for 2019.


“Congruent with the long term vision of Arca Continental, we will continue to strengthen and expanding our productive capabilities in 2019, of distribution and customer service in the markets we serve, to strength our position and capture new organic and inorganic growth opportunities,” said Barragan Morales.
By presenting company’s results, Gutierrez Hernandez underlined that, during 2018, Arca Continental registered sales by 158,952 million pesos, 14 % more than the year before, and EBITDA of 27,466 million, 5.7 % higher than 2017, with a total consolidated volume of 2,220 million of unit boxes.


“During 2019, we will be focusing our effort in innovation and in improving different commercial initiatives, in addition of strengthening operations in the United States and all our territories through larger projects of processing digitalization and better market information analysis,” he explained.
Later, the Annual Shareholders Assembly granted Barragan Morales the appointment of Board of Directors honorary president for life, while Jorge Humberto Santos Reyna as named president of the same.


“In this new stage, I truly trust that, guided by Jorge Santos Reyna’s effort, support and vision and the Board of Directors, the continuous collaboration with Coca-Cola Company, as well as the leadership of our CEO, Arturo Gutierrez, we continue strong in our positive evolution, caring for the development of our collaborators and excellent service to customers and consumers,” ended the businessman.
