The National Customs Agency of Mexico (ANAM), led by Rafael Marín Mollinedo, and the Technological University of Nuevo Laredo, represented by Rector José Antonio Tovar Lara, signed a landmark agreement aimed at transforming the future of customs operations in Tamaulipas.

Building a New Customs Vision

The agreement establishes a framework to strengthen professional training and enhance the quality of public service at Mexico’s borders. By linking academic talent with customs operations, the initiative seeks to improve efficiency, modernize services, and respond more effectively to the demands of international trade.

Opportunities for Students and Regional Growth

As part of the collaboration, students from UT Nuevo Laredo will have the opportunity to complete internships and social service within customs facilities, gaining hands-on experience in an environment directly tied to trade and security. This approach bridges academic knowledge with practical skills, ensuring that Tamaulipas develops a workforce capable of meeting the evolving needs of the global supply chain.

Customs at the Core of Mexico’s Future

ANAM plays a central role in safeguarding national security, protecting borders, and overseeing trade flows that connect Mexico with the world. Strengthening its human capital is essential not only for ensuring fair and efficient tax collection but also for sustaining the infrastructure, social programs, and public projects that underpin Mexico’s long-term development.

This partnership between ANAM and UT Nuevo Laredo reflects a broader vision: to integrate education, public service, and trade competitiveness in a way that generates opportunities for the region and positions Tamaulipas as a strategic hub for customs innovation.
