Amazon Mexico has inaugurated a new fulfillment center in Nuevo León, its second in the state and twelfth nationwide, continuing its strategic expansion across the country.

Located in Apodaca, the new center spans 35,860 square meters—the equivalent of six professional soccer fields—and has the capacity to store over 900,000 products of varying sizes. Specialized areas are included for oversized items such as mattresses, bicycles, and kayaks. This addition brings Amazon’s total investment in Nuevo León to 4 billion pesos.

The facility will create over 300 direct jobs, further cementing Nuevo León's status as a leader in employment generation and logistical infrastructure development.

Diego Méndez de la Luz, General Manager of Amazon Mexico Operations, emphasized the company's dedication to the region’s economic and social development while positioning itself as a key ally for Mexican entrepreneurs.

“We are thrilled with this opening, which strengthens our commitment to job creation in Nuevo León. We aim to continue contributing to the local economy and the personal and professional development of our employees by providing a workspace with the highest technology and quality standards," Méndez said.

He also highlighted the significance of Amazon's presence in Nuevo León for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). “We are excited to be strategic partners for entrepreneurs, enabling them to sell their products not only in Mexico but worldwide, helping drive the growth of their businesses,” he added.

Governor Samuel García reiterated the state’s commitment to enhancing infrastructure to support companies like Amazon.

“Nuevo León has completed roadways that ensure these products are transported safely and quickly. Today, Nuevo León offers Amazon the Gloria-Colombia Highway, a free, concrete road monitored by over 800 of the nation’s top police officers, directly connecting to the Colombia Customs port,” García stated.

Amazon’s infrastructure in Nuevo León includes two fulfillment centers, one sorting center, and three delivery stations. Nationally, Amazon operates 12 fulfillment centers and 24 delivery stations, strategically positioned to meet the growing demand for e-commerce.
