The growth of La Laguna
region continues and as a result of its competitive strengths was laid the
cornerstone of the Italian company Alfagomma, in Torreon, a plant in which 20
million dollars will be invested at the beginning.
The Italian company will be
settled in an extension of 50,000 square meters in the Pymes Industrial Park of
the Mieleras industrial sector, in Torreon and it will generate about 100 jobs
at the beginning of its operations in March 2020, to then increase to 500
workers when its production reaches 100 % of its capacity.
Maurizio Barbini, general
manager for South America of Alfagomma, was glad of being in Torreon to share
the beginning of this project.
He described that Alfagomma
is a world leader in hydraulic items, by manufacturing hydraulic rubber and
thermoplastic hoses, accessories and hydraulic adapters, quick-release and
Multi-K couplings, swivel and plug connectors, hydraulic hose assemblies,
industrial stainless steel corrugated hose, industrial hose assemblies, among
other industrial accessories.
“We are working for John
Deere, Caterpillar, big industrial manufacturers, and I have no doubt that this
is a first step that will allow us to make our way in Mexico,” said Barbini.
He explained that Alfagomma
is a group originally from Milan and it currently operates in 25 countries,
this plant will be the first one in Mexico and they choose La Laguna because
“customers are in Coahuila and Torreon and it has higher availability of safe
and good workforce.”
Meanwhile, Miguel Angel
Riquelme, governor of Coahuila, said that this is very good news for Torreon
and La Laguna and said that Alfagomma's arrival reinforces this promotion that
has been made of the state in other countries.
He insisted that the competitive advantages of La Laguna have to be shown, since there is the capability of being local suppliers on each region, and said to the businessmen arriving today with Alfagomma, that as an authority they are doing everything for investments being productive.
The event was attended by
Laercio Patrali, purchase manager of Alfagomma; Fernando Trevino Botti, general
director of Trebotti, firm in charge of the construction of the plant; as well
as businessmen and representatives of chambers in La Laguna and government
authorities like Jorge Zermeno, mayor of Torreon, Roman Alberto Cepeda,
