Aguascalientes will have the most modern Continental plant in the world

Aguascalientes, gathered with Martin Orozco Sandoval, governor of the state, to
take a tour through the plant and prove the construction progress, which had an
increase of 12.5 %, anticipating its conclusion by mid-2020.
This plant will be Continental’s 24th plant
in Mexico and the most modern worldwide.
The Project leader of Continental Aguascalientes said
that the arrival of this corporate, which today is a reality, was due to that the
entity has a strategic location, good infrastructure, connectivity with the
entire region and also has a peaceful climate. Moreover, Aguascalientes has the
quality talent and high professional specialization.
“Works done until now, have been as planned and
according to strategies. Likewise, there is currently a 43 people team, several
of them are from Aguascalientes. However, massive hiring will start once the
plant is finished, anticipating that Continental will employ 1,000 people in
the state within the upcoming years,” she noted.
On the other hand, she explained that once hiring
begins, all kinds of engineers will be sought, as due to this plant is focused
on industry 4.0, it is appropriate profiles will be according to automation,
industrial engineering, quality, production and lines release. She also
detailed that a 100 % level of the English language will be required.
Besides, Seterbakken thanked the Government for the
willingness they have to collaborate in the acquisition of talent through the
linkage with state universities, and it is thanks to their educational models
that well-prepared professionals graduate, in such manner that with their
knowledge, Continental Aguascalientes could become the most competitive
worldwide.
Regarding suppliers’ hiring, Ina Seterbakken said that
it is the moment to open them the doors and that it is through the state
government website, where all interested suppliers could register to work with
Continental.
Finally, she
noted that the production in Aguascalientes will be mainly to cover the North
American export demands and it will include the seats brakes control modules,
screens, displays for cars of the future, among other products.
