Juan Ignacio Diaz, CEO
of Siemens Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean, said that as of his
administration new investments will be made aimed to encourage competitiveness
and the sustainable development of the country, as part of Siemens commitment
with Mexico for 124 years.
He said that for the first trimester of 2019, the
company is planning to invest 200 million dollars on wind power and solar
energy infrastructure, and 20 million in Research & Development (R+D,)
focused on nanotechnology and products reengineering.
Siemens CEO also explained that he will encourage the implementation
of technological innovations on the fields of electrification, automation and
digitalization, mainly in the sector of clean energies, electromobility and the
adoption of industry 4.0 or the Fourth Industrial Revolution to increase
Mexico’s competitiveness in global economy.
He underlined that “Siemens has as priority to contribute to the social
progress of Mexico through the development of talent of Mexican technicians and
engineers which are able to answer the Industry 4.0 demands.
Likewise, he talked about the opening of a new plant from the German
company, which will complement one of its seven plants in Mexico.
Finally, Diaz explained that Siemens is
the first company in the world that has the commitment of achieving 0 carbon
emissions to 2030.
“We are committed with increased the life quality of Mexicans with the
objective of reducing 60 % of the CO emissions of its operations in Mexico for
2026, contributing to the sustainable development of the country,” he ended.
