Toyota plant is showing progress in Guanajuato

Toyota remains with steady pace in Mexico
By the end of 2019 will be released the first Tacoma from the Toyota plant that is currently built in Apaseo El Grande, Guanajuato, said Guillermo Diaz, director of operations of Toyota Motor Sales de Mexico.
“Regarding the plant,
it is going very well; it is under a very advanced construction process. Currently, it has a 40 % of advance; practically
the entire structure is ready. If you go
to Apaseo El Grande you can see many people and machines working, the plant
continues,” announced in a press conference.
According with the
directive, the start of operations is planned for December 2019.
“That is the commitment; the first Tacoma will be released from the plant Apaseo el Grande. Until now, there is no change in plans, the plan of manufacturing the Tacoma in the Guanajuato plant continues,” he assured.
Marisol Blanco, manager of public affairs and social responsibility of Toyota Motor Sales de Mexico, confirmed that the plant continues being built: “There is no change in plans for the product being produced in Guanajuato; effectively by the end of 2019, start of 2020, will be starting operations.”
TOYOTA’S VIAL INFRASTRUCTURE WORKS HAVE PROGRESSED
At a work meeting of the Multisectorial Group who review the construction advances of the vial infrastructure from the Toyota plant in Apaseo El Grande, Guanajuato, Miguel Marquez Marquez, governor of the State, said that the access works and its construction have progress.
“We are doing well, we are on time, there are some warehouses where they are setting the roof,” he said.
Roberto Vallejo Rabajo, general director of the Centro SCT in Guanajuato, he highlighted the joint work fulfilled by the Government of the Republic with the State’s Government in the construction of the access to the Toyota plant.
This, he said, reflects the linkage of governmental instances with the directives of the Japanese company to take the project forward.
“This is done within a collaboration environment and of joint work, which has allowed that the advances that they have had are substantial and go on time with the commitments with the company,” he referred.
At the meeting participated Takaaki Kuga, general director of Toyota; Guillermo Romero Pacheco, secretary of Sustainable Economic Development; Efrain Arias, director of the Centro SCT in Queretaro; and Jose Arturo Duran Miranda, secretary of Public Works, among others.
GROWTH
During the first semester of the year, Toyota Motor Sales de Mexico commercialized 51,948 units that represent a growth of 1.2 % regarding the same period last year.
This consolidates Toyota as the fourth automotive company with more volume in sales in Mexico with a 7.6 % of market participation in the accumulate.
“We have a second
challenging semester, since our goal is to close the year with 107,000 units,
but we are sure that we will achieve this thanks to the main strategy of Toyota
of having the right product, with the right price, at the right moment,” said
Tom Sullivan, president of Toyota Motor Sales de Mexico.
