Edinburg's North Industrial Park continues to attract new projects that promote economic development, with the latest additions being a commercial truck driver training center and warehouse construction with service workshops. These combined investments amount to $1,350,000.

The Economic Development Corporation (EEDC) in the city announced these new developments following the acquisition of Lots 7B and 9 by RGV CDL, a company specializing in commercial driver training.

The commercial driver training center, spanning 3,500 square feet on Lot 7B, has already received approval for CDL testing from the Texas Department of Public Safety. Operations are slated to commence in the second quarter of 2024.

Aldo Iván Ortiz, owner of RGV CDL, expressed enthusiasm for their new location in North Industrial Park, Edinburg: "In Edinburg's North Industrial Park, we've found a home. This 3,500-square-foot building is not just a space; we're turning dreams into reality to create a better future."

The investment in this development amounts to $550,000.

Raudel Garza, CEO of EEDC, highlighted the competitive advantages that businesses will enjoy by locating in this industrial park, emphasizing the benefits it will bring in training new workers. He stated, "By selling two of our properties in North Industrial Park to RGV CDL, we're providing space for a new commercial driver's license testing facility, approved by the DPS, and a commercial truck maintenance workshop. RGV CDL is working diligently to ensure our workforce is trained and readily available for high-demand occupations, such as truck drivers."

Storage solutions and service workshops will be located on Lot 9, with an investment of $800,000. This area will encompass 4,500 square feet with three warehouses available for leasing and state-of-the-art commercial truck service facilities. The combined warehouse spaces will offer approximately 9,600 square feet.

These expansions underscore Edinburg's presence as a thriving hub for industry, transportation, and the logistics sector.
