Tamaulipas Ranks Sixth in Country's Exports, Excels in Electronics and Electrical Industries

Tamaulipas occupied the sixth
position nationwide in exports during the first quarter of 2023, surpassing a total of $7.637 billion.
The categories with the highest
contribution were related to the manufacturing of electronic and electrical
equipment, encompassing computing, communication, measurement, components, and
accessories related to electric power.
The National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI) explained
that, according to the results of the Quarterly
Exports by Federal Entity (ETEF), Tamaulipas recorded $1.681 billion in
electronic equipment manufacturing, representing an 8.5% share at the national
level, surpassing states like Nuevo León.
Meanwhile, in the manufacturing
of electrical equipment, it obtained over $870 million, representing an 11.4%
share in the country.
Another category where Tamaulipas
stood out was the export of oil and gas extraction subsector, ranking fifth in
national contribution with a 0.6% share.
Tamaulipas surpassed several
states in total exports, including Sonora, San Luis Potosí, Estado de México,
Puebla, Querétaro, Campeche, Aguascalientes, Tabasco, Veracruz, Michoacán,
Sinaloa, Hidalgo, Ciudad de México, Zacatecas, Durango, Morelos, Tlaxcala,
Guerrero, Oaxaca, Yucatán, Chiapas, Colima, Baja California Sur, Nayarit, and
Quintana Roo.
In contrast, Chihuahua ranked
first, followed by Coahuila in second, Nuevo León in third, Baja California in
fourth, and Guanajuato in fifth.
The total exports of the country
for January, February, and March 2023 amounted to $127.1087 billion.
Exportations Tamaulipas:
January to February 2023: $7.637

11.4% in electrical equipment manufacturing.
0.6% in oil and gas extraction.
