Matamoros Economic Development Showcased to South Texas Council

Matamoros recently unveiled its diverse competitive advantages for attracting investments to the South Texas Economic Progress Council (Costep) through the Matamoros Economic Development Committee (Codem).

During a meeting attended by representatives of economic development and business leaders, including Oscar Macario Farías, president of the National Chamber of the Transformation Industry (Canacintra), Sergio Gracia, president of Mexico Industry, César Pacheco, commercial advisor, Dolores Ramírez, president of the Employers' Confederation of the Mexican Republic (Coparmex) in Matamoros, Abraham Guerra, founder and director of IDL, and industrial brokers and real estate developers such as Maricarmen Cadena and René Xavier González from Los Palmares Industrial Park, Carlos Rodríguez, manager of LKW Construcciones, and Andrés García, representative of Las Ventanas Industrial Park, Matamoros emphasized its strategic location, strengths in the logistics sector, manufacturing expertise, industrial infrastructure, and more.

Adam González, CEO of Costep, and Rick Carrera, director of economic development, expressed their keen interest in collaborating with Grecia Zertuche, executive director of Codem. Zertuche, in turn, highlighted the potential of joint efforts between Matamoros and South Texas to attract new investments. She emphasized the importance of land, rail, and air connections, as well as the impact of manufacturing and growth opportunities during the trade mission.

In addition to presenting at the Costep meeting, representatives of Codem also conducted visits to industrial parks in Matamoros, including Las Ventanas Industrial Park and Los Palmares Industrial Park.

This collaborative effort aims to bolster economic development and foster investment opportunities in the region, further solidifying Matamoros' position as an attractive destination for businesses and investors alike.
