Construction has begun on the Amistad Laguna Industrial Park in Coahuila, which will cover an area of 262 hectares. The industrial real estate developer plans to invest approximately $80 million in the medium term for this project.

Jesús María Ramón, President of Constructora Amistad, stated that this will be a significant project for the region, attracting companies from China, South Korea, and other nations.

"The Laguna region needed a large park to host top-tier industries. We are very excited to return to the Laguna; we believe it's an excellent location, and with nearshoring, we think it will be a good investment here," he remarked.

This new industrial park, set to become one of Grupo Amistad's largest and most important projects in the region, already has two potential clients and has garnered the interest of other companies wanting to establish a presence in the area.

Grupo Amistad currently operates 17 industrial parks and serves over 180 international clients, with a presence in states such as Sonora, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Durango, Nuevo León, San Luis Potosí, Guanajuato, Hidalgo, and Querétaro.

Claudio Bres Garza, Secretary of Economy of Coahuila, commented that this is the 53rd investment announcement of the year, resulting in 8,624 new jobs created as of last week. Additionally, it's expected that there will be over 10,000 new jobs in La Laguna by August 2023, surpassing the employment generation of 11 states combined.

Governor Miguel Ángel Riquelme Solís noted that this project will boost competitiveness and generate formal employment in the region.

"Cities like Torreón and Matamoros need to continue investing in infrastructure for economic development," he said, expressing his gratitude to all the investors who are betting on the Laguna Region.

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Miguel Felipe Mery Ayup, President of the Supreme Court of Justice; Verónica Martínez García, Senator of the Republic; Miguel Ángel Ramírez López, Mayor of Matamoros; and Román Alberto Cepeda González, Mayor of Torreón.

Also present were Marco A. Ramón, President of Amistad Industrial Parks; Jesús María Ramón, President of Constructora Amistad; Claudio F. Ramón, President of Amistad Global Developments; and Jaime Russek Fernández, entrepreneur.
