The American company Boyd officially opened its plant in Ciudad Juárez , Chihuahua, with the presence of senior managers, staff and government representatives, after a year of starting operations.
Located in the south of the city, this plant dedicated to multiple products and areas – medical, automotive, electronic industry – has a size of 4,000 square feet. They have 300 employees and are looking to have up to 3,000 total in a few years.
According to Doug Pritt, director of the company, Boyd chose Ciudad Juárez for being one of the leading manufacturing regions in all of North America.
“We are innovative in our solutions. This plant will be a design plant for innovative solutions for our clients. We have many large sites in various regions such as Europe and Asia, but this plant will be one of the largest in North America,” he highlighted.
The plant will open a new building in the future. “ We are in early stages, but in about four or five months we will open a new building ”, stressed Britt.
Regarding the choice of Juárez, the director declared that of all the sites they considered to start operations, Juárez stood out for its workforce. “There are many universities that offer qualified employees with high technical skills that we can use. In addition, Juárez is an active site for business creation. We have a strong relationship with the local administration for the growth of our operations”, said Britt.
It should be noted that this plant could be installed in the city under the operations of Tecma .
