ABIC Group, a Japanese company specializing in the
production of aluminum automotive components, recently confirmed an investment
of approximately $11 million to set up a new manufacturing plant in Pabellón de
Arteaga, Aguascalientes. This strategic move marks the company's second factory
in Mexico, following the inauguration of its first plant in Salamanca,
Guanajuato, back in 2015.
The decision to establish the new plant in Aguascalientes was
driven by several key factors. Firstly, the region's proximity to major
customers such as Marelli and Tesla played a crucial role, enabling ABIC Group
to ensure a close and efficient supply chain while mitigating risks associated
with long distances.
Furthermore, the company aims to contribute to regional
growth by fostering a business-friendly environment that supports success. The
city's outstanding reputation for security, cleanliness, and order, along with
its well-established automotive industry, were pivotal factors in the location
selection process. ABIC Group also expressed appreciation for the significant
support received from various government entities and local stakeholders,
further reinforcing their confidence in the decision to invest in Aguascalientes.
The new plant is expected to commence operations in 2024,
creating 260 job opportunities and signaling the company's commitment to the
development and progress of the region. With a solid foundation and government
support, ABIC Group is poised to thrive and actively contribute to the growth
of the area.
